Restore a backup.
Something went wrong? Here is how to get files, your database or emails back from the daily backups – we do the restore for you, free of charge.
Backed up automatically – and we restore it
We back up your data automatically every night – on the server and encrypted on separate off-site storage, with 7 daily and 4 weekly versions each. You don’t have to do anything. We restore a version for you, free of charge – single files, a database, a mailbox or the whole package. In addition, you can create your own backup in the hosting panel at any time and restore that one yourself.
A restore overwrites the current state. When in doubt, back up the current state first so that nothing new is lost.
Define the scope
Think about what you want back: just individual files, the database or an email state. Being selective is safer than “everything”.
Request a restore
In the customer center under Webspace → Backups you can see which versions exist. Click “Request a restore” there – or write to Support or give us a call.
Restoring from the daily backups costs nothing – whether a single file or the whole web space.
Name the point in time
Tell us the day whose version you want back – ideally the last one before the problem occurred.
Restore selectively
We restore only what you name (e.g. a folder or a database) instead of overwriting the entire state – so nothing added since then is lost.
Check
We let you know as soon as we are done. Then check the website and, if applicable, the mailbox; if something is not right, just get in touch.
