A certificate that names your company.
For encryption, the free Let’s Encrypt certificate that comes with every web hosting plan is enough. A certificate with organisation validation also confirms that your company stands behind the domain – for business partners, tenders or internal rules that ask for exactly that.

Requirements of customers and partners
Some clients, tenders or platforms explicitly ask for a certificate with a validated organisation.
Company name in the certificate
Anyone who opens the certificate in the browser sees your company as the holder – not just the domain name.
Shop and customer area
On pages where customers enter data, the validated holder is an additional signal of trust.
Servers outside our web hosting
If the website is hosted elsewhere, download the certificate and key in the customer center and install them yourself.

From the order to the installed certificate.
An invented but typical example: an engineering office has to show a certificate with a validated company for a customer portal.
- OrderIn the customer center, enter the domain under “Domains → Organisation-validated certificates” and pay. We order from the certificate authority only after payment.
- Check the domainIf the zone is with us, we set the validation record ourselves. Otherwise the record is shown in the customer center and the office adds it at its DNS provider.
- Check the companyThe certificate authority validates the company; the company details from the customer account go out with the order.
- InstallOnce issued, we install the certificate on the web space. If the site is hosted elsewhere, it is ready to download.
- RenewA certificate is valid for at most 200 days today. Within the contract year we reissue it in good time, without a new order.

One certificate, one annual price.
Ordered in the customer center under “Domains → Organisation-validated certificates”, for business customers with a company name on file.
Price per year incl. VAT. Business customers with a company name in their account can order for a domain they own. For encryption alone, the free Let’s Encrypt certificate is enough.

Do I need this at all?
Not for encryption: every web hosting plan with us comes with a free Let’s Encrypt certificate. Organisation validation pays off when someone explicitly asks for a certificate with a validated organisation.
Who can order?
Business customers with a company name on file in their account. A company is validated – without a company there is nothing to validate.
Do I have to create a CSR?
No. We create the key and store it encrypted. If the website is hosted elsewhere, download certificate and key in the customer center.
Why is the certificate reissued within a year?
Since 15 March 2026 a certificate may be valid for at most 200 days. Within your contract year we therefore reissue it in good time; no new order is needed.
What happens if I cancel?
If the contract ends within 30 days of the order, we cancel the order at the certificate authority. After that the issued certificate stays valid until it expires, but is no longer renewed.
Does the certificate cover several domains?
No. A certificate covers one domain including its www variant. For each further domain you order a separate one.
How is the domain validated?
Via a DNS record. If the zone is with us, we set it ourselves; otherwise the record is shown in the customer center and you add it at your DNS provider.
Can I download certificate and key?
Yes. In the customer center under “Domains → Organisation-validated certificates” you download the certificate including intermediate certificates and, if you wish, the key – for example for a server outside our web hosting.
