The errors that occur most often.
Images without alt text
Without a description, nobody using a screen reader learns what the image shows – and neither do search engines.
Forms without labels
An input field without an associated label cannot be used by many people. Contact forms are often affected.
Missing structure
No main heading, skipped heading levels, no page language: this makes orientation harder for people and machines.
Page title and description
Missing, too short or overly long titles and descriptions cost space and clicks in search results.
Broken links
Internal links that lead nowhere annoy visitors and waste the attention of search engines.
Encryption and mobile view
Whether the site is reachable via HTTPS and whether it is set up for mobile devices (viewport).

A made-up but typical example: a physiotherapy practice whose website was built a few years ago and has been maintained on the side ever since.

Good to know.
Is my website accessible afterwards?
No, and we say so on purpose. An automatic check finds only some of the barriers. Whether texts are understandable, whether everything can be operated by keyboard or whether colours have enough contrast is ultimately judged by a person. The website check reliably finds the common, clear-cut errors, and does so again every month.
Does my website then comply with the German Accessibility Act (BFSG)?
No automatic check can confirm that, and we do not claim it. The report is a good starting point for fixing the most common shortcomings. Whether and to what extent the BFSG applies to you is a matter for legal advice if in doubt.
Which pages are checked?
We start on the home page and follow internal links, up to 25 pages per website. Pages behind a login cannot be reached.
Does the website have to be hosted with ProMedia24?
No. We check any publicly reachable website on a domain you own. For domains not registered with us, you prove ownership once with a DNS entry.
Does the check change anything on my website?
No. We only fetch the pages, just like a visitor. Nothing is fixed automatically – that is your decision. On request we make the corrections as part of our web design service.
How often is the website checked?
Automatically every 30 days, after which you get a summary by email. In addition you can have each website checked on demand once a day – for example after you have fixed something.
Do you store the content of my pages?
No. We store the findings, their number and up to five affected pages per finding – not the text of your pages.
Can I also get text suggestions?
If the feature is offered in your customer center, you can explicitly agree per website that AI suggestions are created for missing or unsuitable page titles and descriptions. For this, the public text of the affected pages is sent to the AI provider. Without your consent this does not happen, and nothing is applied automatically.
