A lot has happened in the Customer Center over the past few weeks. The most important thing first: two assistants now take the manual work off your hands. One question per step, you can see what is happening at all times, and nothing is overwritten without your approval.

The Migration Assistant

Website, mailboxes, database and domain move to us in one order. You will find it in the Customer Center under Webspace → Umzug zu uns.

  • Your current provider is detected. From the domain, the assistant reads where your website and email are hosted today, and pre-fills the servers and connection details.
  • Inventory via API. For many large providers, such as all-inkl, IONOS, Cloudflare, netcup, INWX, Hostinger, Gandi, GoDaddy and any cPanel hosting, the assistant reads your domains and DNS records itself via the official API. If two-factor authentication is enabled there, simply type in the code; it is not stored.
  • Your old provider is only read from. Emails, folders, files and database are copied, and everything there stays as it is until you switch over.
  • DNS records move with you. When you transfer a domain, we carry over what your domain serves today, so that your website and email do not suddenly point to nowhere.
  • Also via SFTP, for example from STRATO, IONOS or mittwald.

The Application Assistant

Under Webspace → Anwendungen you can put WordPress, WooCommerce, Nextcloud, Joomla, Matomo and Grav on one of your domains in just a few minutes, or on your default address, which every package has from the start.

  • The package comes directly from the vendor and is checked against its checksum, provided the vendor publishes one.
  • We create the database, and the assistant takes care of the setup.
  • New and much faster: The application is transferred in a few packages and unpacked directly on your webspace, instead of sending every file individually. This makes a big difference for large packages such as Nextcloud, with over 30,000 files.
  • An existing website is never overwritten.

Also new

  • Test copy of a website: Copy your site to staging.ihre-domain.de and try out updates there before you roll them out live.
  • Website monitoring with text checks and certificate warnings: we get in touch if your site no longer shows what it is supposed to, or if the certificate is about to expire.
  • Managed Hosting: If you would rather not deal with updates and backups at all, you can book maintenance as an add-on. See Managed Hosting.
  • The Customer Center has a new navigation with search (Ctrl + K) and a bar for smartphones.
